I started Shannon's Pet-Sitting in 1998, while working at the North Shore Veterinary Clinic in Skokie, IL. In addition to my hand on experience at the clinic, I also completed Veterinary Assistant classes through AAHA, and Cedar Valley College . Along with my studies. I worked part time at the Animal Emergency & Critical Care Center in Northbrook, IL .
I decided to further my education in the world of exotics. I worked in the specialty department at Petsmart for 2 years.
Over the years I have developed a strong reputation and rapport with the veterinary clinics in the area.
I specialize in areas of pet sitting that include pets with behavioral problems, medical needs, senior pets, and care in the comfort of the pets own home. I stay overnight in the owners home, or can stop by a few times a day.
I also assist owners with medicating pets. I assist in pilling, injections, and subcutaneous fluids. I have a lot of knowledge, and hands on experience in treatment of Chronic Renal Failure and Diabetes in pets.
I enjoy working with multiple animal rescues and non-profit charitable organizations by participating in fundraisers and donation programs. In 2009 I set up the "Referrals for Donations" program to help raise money for local non-profit organizations. |
