All About the Labrador Retriever - $12.98 | My Kingdom For A Lab: Life With The Hunting Labrador Retriever - $10.14 | A Dog for All Seasons - $13.49 | Many Labrador Retriever books are written for either the hunter, the pet owner, or the show exhibitor. In All About the Labrador Retriever, Berndt and Myers present a balanced perspective on the popular sporting and family breed. Myers has shown and field-trialed Labradors and other breeds. He is an avid hunter in the midwest and south. Berndt is a well-known AKC all-breed judge and author of several breed books. Together, they explain: Why the Labrador Retriever is the true all-purpose dog The Labrador's personality The breed standard explained How to select the right Labrador Retriever for your needs How to care for, condition and train your dog Showing, field work, breeding, and other things Labs do Breed history and "Hall of Fame" gallery The Labrador retriever has epitomized the term "versatile gun dog" for decades -- long before it became North America's most popular pet breed. Whether launching themslelves from a duck blind into the skim ice of a winter marsh or rooting a gaudy, cackling ring-necked pheasant out of a tangle of honeysuckle, working Labs consistently display courage, persistence, and style. The twenty-one stories in this anthology, put together by Gun Dog magazine field editor Joe Arnette, celebrate these qualities in stories that inspire joy, sadness, admiration, and remembrance. Contributors include the best-known writers in the gun-dog business, including E. Donnall Thomas, Robert F. Jones, the late Gene Hill, Ted Lundrigan, Michael McIntosh, the late Richard Wolters, and Arnette himself. | It's A Lab's World: An Illustrated Collection of Everything Labrador Retriever - $12.77 | Why Labs Do That: A Collection of Curious Labrador Retriever Behavior - $9.65 | Labrador Retrievers Today (Book of the Breed Series) - $16.95 | Labrador Retrievers are very special dogs with equally special traits and characteristics that set them uniquely apart from other dogs. This colorful book aims to answer all of the questions Lab owners wonder about their breed, including: Why do Labs come in three colors? Why do Labs eat grass? Why do Labs look like they are smiling? Why do they love to play and why do they make such good service dogs? These are just few of the over forty interesting Lab behaviors that are lightheartedly and thoroughly explained in this fun and insightful volume. I like this book. It gives a slightly different perspective on caring, raising and training your Lab. Coode knows about the Labrador Retriever and share her toughts in an easy and understandable language. I like the point of view which is a bit different compared to the American point of view on topics like training and kennel maintenance. I do not believe it's a five stars book because of the pictures, they are all black and white, but they are all good though. Nice overview of influential kennels. I really like all the information this book offers. Recomended for Lab lovers, not for general public eventhough the info applies to many types of dogs. | The History Of Retrievers (A Vintage Dog Books Breed Classic - Labrador - Flat-Coated Retriever - Golden Retriever) - $25.99 | The Retriever: Its Points; Management; Training & Diseases (Labrador, Flat-Coated, Curly-Coated) - $29.99 | El Labrador Retriever - $26.95 | THE HISTORY OF RETRIEVERS By Charles C.
