Bunter is a Black Labrador Retriever who goes to the country to visit his cousin, Floss. After Bunter explores with his cousin and the children, the children wander off into the woods. Bunter worries that they might get lost and sends Floss back to the farm to get help. While Floss is gone, Bunter hears noises which frighten the children. A bear appears from the woods and threatens the children's safety. Bunter must protect the children so he confronts the bear and tries to scare the bear away. Sensing Bunter's determination, the bear retreats to the woods. Grandpa and Dad arrive with Floss and after praising Bunter for his courage, they take the children home.
