this is a well put together book with some decent photographs but lacks depth in the text.also it is mainly about the authors own dogs and strain and i feel there were many more worthy dogs which should have been covered (gr ch duke,gr ch rocky,ch brock,red joe,dillenger etc etc).i feel this book is more geared to the newbie and pet/show brigade (which i believe the owner is a member of).for anyone wanting a book on gamedogs this is probably not for you.all that said it is a decent effort on a breed that has not been covered much in print.

I agree with the previous reviewer.This is an excellent book on the breed,obviously written by someone with great knowledge and enthusiasm for the 'Stafford'.And some superb photo's of great historical interest.

I am a first time owner of a staffy, and to be honest, this is not the best of books. It's dull, black and white, no colour pictures, and way too much writing! It's just too much to digest for a puppy owner. I would recommend it to experienced owners or those who want to know a lot about breeding and the "history" of the breed. It's also slightly overpriced for what it is.

I purchased this book as a gift for a friend, who owned one of the dogs inside, Staffmaster Equilibrium JW; He informed me that he found the book a handy reference, enjoyable reading and some great photography.
