|---|
 | | | General Information | The Bedlington Terrier is believed to have been originally developed by gypsies in Northumberland, England.
The male Bedlington Terrier stands 16-17½ inches at the withers and the female 15-16½ inches. The coat, which has a tendency to curl, is a mixture of hard and soft hair that is crisp to the touch but not wiry. Colors include blue, sandy, liver, blue and tan, sandy and tan, liver and tan. Bi-colors have tan markings on the legs, chest, hindquarters and above the eyes. From a distance the Bedlington Terrier can sometimes be mistaken for a lamb.
The Bedlington Terrier does not shed but needs weekly combing and professional grooming every 3-4 months to keep their coats in show condition. Bedlington Terriers make loyal and affectionate pets. They are protective of family members and are often used as watchdogs..
