 |  | | General Information | It is believed that Bloodhounds originated in 7th century France, where it was bred to track game and then keep it cornered. It formed the basis of other scent hound breeds.
The Bloodhound stand at 23-27 inches at the withers and weighs 80-110 lbs. Colors include black and tan, liver and tan, or red.
Bloodhounds are affectionate and loyal companions. This dog breed is not easy to train but an owner who is prepared to stay the course will win out in the end.
