The male Boxer stands between 23 and 25 inches at the withers and the female at 21-23.5 inches. Adult Boxers can weigh anywhere between 55 and 75 lbs. The head, especially the muzzle is often spoken of as the Boxers most distinguishing characteristic. The coat is Short, shiny, lying smooth and tight to the body, colors are fawn and brindle.
This dog breed is faithful and affectionate with the family, but distrustful of strangers, although not normally aggressive with them. They are a playful breed and usually get on well with children. They are intelligent but can be stubborn when it comes to training, and although a great family pet it should not be considered by the novice dog owner.
