 | | | General Information | The Briard originated in France as a herding dog.
The coat is coarse, hard and dry, lying down flat, and falling naturally in long, slightly waving locks. These dogs come in various uniform colors,
including black, grey and tawny. The AKC excludes white dogs and those with marked spots. Males stand at 23 to 27 inches and females at 22 to 25½ inches.
The Briard is an intelligent, but independent and protective.dog. As such, they tend to be suspicious of new people or new situations. As a rule it is preferable that they be socialized at a very early age. Easy to train. If you are looking for Briard merchandise and collectibles click here for gift items. | | | | |
