One evening we got a phone call that he had drown in a river that ran through his home town. The one thing that my nephew embraced in his short life was dogs. Our family had discussed this project before my nephews death but we hadn't put it into motion. His death pushed us into gear to get the "Woof Project" moving. The plan of the project is to take at risk youth who are just starting into the court systems and have them build relationships with dogs, train them and assist in finding them forever homes. We are currently in the infancy stage with our work and have started rescuing dogs and placing them in foster and adoptive homes. We hope to move forward in finding a facility in the near future to provide the youth a positive place to learn about responsibility and companionship. ID: 17780 |
