I have international Champion line yorkshire terriers, and usually it is impossible for me to allow a dog I bred to go to a home with children less than 6. But I did an experimental breeding last summer, and have just a fantabulous boy, who has spent time with a 5 yr old little girl, including her attempting to put him on a leash and issue the "come" command. He's "getting there" with cuddliness; when I say that, it's because of the age. Just wiggly, easily distracted. But definitely has been hand raised. Will be teething soon, but all pups fathered by my Gus, grandson of one of the winningest yorkies in the world (shown with breeder/owner) have lost their puppy canines freely. Most yorkies have to have them pulled, in order to prevent their coming in and encouraging decay from trapped food, or from throwing the bite off. No patella problems from the progeny of Gus, either, because he is larger. His breeder likes them that way, but his winning dogs turn up at shows to challenge for the Best in Show award, and you have to get out of the Toy Group, first. Despite a 7 lb. regulation in the American standard, he believes he has a better chance of garnering attention in Toys with a yorkie that isn't diminutive. He wants attention. I knew this when I sought him out as my breeder, and am going to obtain more yorkies from him in the future.
Born June 13, will probably be 9-11 lbs. Pedigree willingly made available but without registration (that is a ripoff for pet homes, anyway). The bloodline is 75% Mexican and 12-1/2% each AKC and Canadian. Will have had one "puppy cut" since these photos. We won't get into discussions as to why in the past certain families couldn't be in the running for a Medallion puppy. Just know that this one is of the right size to be hauled around and loved, but has a phenomenal head, proper coat texture and pigment, and absolutely the delightful yorkie temperament.

I've had four families come back for additional dogs.
