Peyton is a 6 year old Blue Merle female who is being retired from breeding. The ideal home is with a retired single man, woman or couple. She would prefer to be the only dog because she is an “Alpha” but is not mandatory. She loves attention, is easy to groom, and gets along with cats and other dogs if they are not an Alpha. But she is scared of everything and of people she does not know. She is not housebroken, but with consistency and one on one she should be easily housebroken. She is a very sweet dog, and will make a wonderful pet in the right home and environment.
This is Peyton’s story, why she is afraid of everything:
We purchased Peyton as a show/breeding dog at 8 weeks old, when we started showing her she was doing very well, placing and taking ribbons. At 9 months old and her 2nd time in the show ring at a big show, there was work going on at the grounds that the show was at. There were men moving bleachers around us, while we were in the ring there was a huge bang, the people doing the work dropped the bleachers onto a tractor trailer bed and scared the living daylights out of Peyton. Since then she has not been right, scared of everything. And no matter what we have done or tried we have not been able to get her to the point of not being afraid. We have never been able to show her again. When she is at home in the outside kennel she never stops running, (she’s has OCD, run, run, run around and around).
We have a very specific requirement for the home that she is to be placed in. Because she is a “HIGH FLIGHT RISK” dog. You “MUST” have a fenced in yard. There will be “NO” negotiations on this issue at all.
If you are interested in meeting Peyton, and think that you can give her the kind of home that she needs please give us a call and let’s talk. Contact Lynn at 207-284-8515.
