Located in the heart of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, we strive for good temperament, solid structure, and sound health. Our breeding program is centered around producing quality Aussies that can do it all, while building relationships with others through a shared love of the amazing Australian Shepherd!

At Echolight, we do relationships – not transactions. We breed for ourselves first, striving to improve and preserve our breeding program with specific goals in mind, rather than to just produce puppies to sell. Each breeding we do is carefully planned using health tested parent dogs with quality in mind, in hopes that we will have a puppy or two to keep and move forward with. Of course, not every puppy produced should go on to reproduce for a variety of reasons. These puppies will be available to loving companion or performance homes.

Due to the great financial and emotional cost of producing a litter, as well as the many many hours of time involved, we don't breed often. It's a lot of work! This is true for many responsible breeders. We encourage you to start searching for a good breeder at least 6 months before you plan to take a puppy home; one year in advance would be even better. Talk with many breeders and get an idea of what your ideal Aussie would be like. This breed has a lot of variety within it, so there is something for everyone! Our idea of an ideal Aussie may not be yours. Ask lots of questions and look for a breeder who is patient, open and honest with your questions. And expect to be asked about yourself in return! We want to place our babies in suitable, loving homes and obtain the best match between puppy and owner!
