Our sweet and handsome Angelus is a purebred McNab, whom we "started" as an excellent future pet/companion dog. He is the darling of the litter. He is very calm and affectionate and people-oriented, and is highly intelligent and trainable. In a short time, Angelus has learned basic commands and "manners." He is excellent with children, loves other dogs, and is quiet, clean, and loyal. He would make an ideal pet for a family with or without children, and could get along well with any other pets. Blitzy and Duke, the parents of our puppies, are our dedicated cattle-herding dogs. They play an important role on our 450+ acre farm, daily bringing in our small herd of dairy cows from a one-hundred-acre hilled pasture for the afternoon milking. Blitzy and Duke are also sweet and devoted companion dogs who love affection, enjoy walks, and are glad to accompany us in any activity. The McNab breed most closely resembles the border collie, although they are more "balanced" and less high-strung than their better known counter-part. McNabs are very intelligent, quick to learn, agile, active, responsive, warm and affectionate, loyal, and playful. The adult size for a male is about 50 lbs., and they come in a variety of colors and have a very low maintenance coat. Moreover, Angelus is, in a sense, an atypical McNab in regards to his outstanding calmness and his friendliness. A number of people have commented on his beauty and marvelous temperament, as well as his soft shiny coat! We have extensively socialized Angelus, including socialization with children and other dogs. He is doing very well with crate and leash training, as well as "waiting" to eat until permission is granted and sitting and staying on command. He also has been introduced to other animals on our farm (including chickens, cats, goats, and cows). Angelus is up-to-date on shots, dewormed, and comes with a one-year health guarantee (2 years on hips and elbows) as well as a pedigree. Although we welcome inquiries and would be glad to share with others concerning this rare and very special breed, please know that we will place our little Angelus only with a family or individual who will be committed to providing him with daily exercise and reinforcement of the training he has received, and who will not leave him home alone, without other human or canine contact, for more than 2-4 hours each day. We also would require at least a fenced-in yard-- although more extensive acreage would be ideal. We would not place Angelus as a pet in an apartment/townhouse. Thank you and God bless you... All for the greater glory of God!
